Determining a systematic approach to the formation of transport tariffs is one of the priority tasks at the ITC TRACECA

The main objective is to implement the provisions of the Technical Annex to the Basic Agreement on International Railway Transport in terms of determining preferential terms and tariffs.

In the framework of TRACECA activity on developing the Concept for the Development of Container Transport until 2030, the Working Group (WG) brought together the representatives of state transport authorities and maritime and railway administrations of the TRACECA MLA member countries.  

During the WG, the participants of the meeting agreed to continue work on the development of a unified Methodology of calculating tariffs for container transportation for the corridor.

"Ensuring competitive advantages at ITC TRACECA will be possible if there are coordinated actions regarding the application of preferential tariffs and rates, which will have a positive impact on the whole multimodal chain," said Mr. A. Assavbayev, Secretary General.

The Methodology provides for the calculation of tariffs for the transport of goods by rail, carried out in large-tonnage universal containers on the railway lines of MLA member countries, as well as define the maximum values for tariffs, applied in seaports and by maritime carriers.

The next Meeting of the Working Group is scheduled to take place in April this year.
