LOGMOS Project organizes a Railway Working Group Meeting on 20th December 2011

A Railway Working Group meeting of representatives of railways organizations of Armenia (South-Caucasus Railways), Georgia (Georgian Railways) and Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia) will meet in Kiev on 20 December 2011 under initiative of the LOGMOS project.

The meeting in Kiev will be also attended by representatives of the Permanent Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA, Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and National Secretaries of Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine.

The participants will address open issues to be jointly solved by these Railway Companies, and consider feasible approaches in securing the regular and reliable railway ferry operation through the Black Sea. The Working Group will discuss the actions required by public sector in order to improve these links.

The ultimate goal of the meeting it to contribute with practical solutions to railway connection on the Black Sea, operation of container trains and implementation of intermodal door-to-door / through tariffs by the Railway Companies in a more transparent and commercially efficient way.

The meeting is intended to strengthen a dialogue between the key players, tackle the most important issues and jointly define concrete measures for eliminating obstacles to the seamless railway transport in the region.
