International Transport Conference “Trends in Transport Sector: Infrastructure Development and Multimodal Transport” – Ukraine

On 15 October 2013 a transport conference was organised jointly by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and EU transport projects. The LOGMOS team together with other EU projects supported the organisation and actively participated in the event.

The Conference was split into three sessions to tackle specific issues. The first session dedicated to the potential, plans and bottlenecks of the transport infrastructure in Ukraine was moderated by the Ministry of Infrastructure and focused on the priorities of transport sector development, organisation of container trains, cooperation with the shipping lines, and perspectives of the road transport combination with ferry lines.

The LOGMOS project moderated the second session on regular maritime and river transport.

The European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) moderated the third session, which was dedicated to the issues of trade facilitation and elimination of existing barriers.  

Participants supported the LOGMOS Master Plan recommendations for logistics and multimodal transport development, and agreed that TRACECA MoS concepts have to be targeted through implementation of the pilot projects supported by governments and proactive stakeholders’ policies.
