Prospects of cooperation between TRACECA and Turkic Investment Fund were discussed in Istanbul

During the meeting possible formats of cooperation for joining efforts in support of regional transport connectivity were discussed.

Mr. Asset Assavbayev, Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA, spoke about the current TRACECA projects, including the TRACECA Fund, which is considered as a tool to attract financing for priority projects in the region. He expressed readiness to interact with the TIF and noted that such partnership can make a significant contribution to the regional connectivity and integration goals.

Mr. Baghdad Amreyev, the TIF President informed about the priorities and current activity of the Fund. He noted the interest in involving the TIF in regional projects along with international financial institutions and other stakeholders. Mr. Amreyev also emphasized the readiness of the Fund to participate in initiatives aimed at strengthening cross-border connectivity in the Turkic world.

The sides agreed to maintain a dialogue and work out areas of practical interaction.

The TRACECA Fund - At the Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) TRACECA held on February 26, 2025 in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the decision on the establishment of the TRACECA Fund was officially approved. This Fund will become a new mechanism for financial support of cross-border transport projects in the member countries of the TRACECA region.

The objectives of the TRACECA Fund - direct financing through grants, as well as support and promotion of projects aimed at facilitating the transportation of goods and border crossing in the TRACECA corridor that meet the criteria set out in the present Rules of Operation of the TRACECA Fund.
