TRACECA presented initiatives on the digitalisation of international transport and the development of transport connectivity

The Forum programme included 79 events, among them 34 panel discussions, 8 investment pitch sessions and 7 major bilateral business forums. The major event was a plenary session attended by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as high-ranking representatives of a number of states, including TRACECA member countries – Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and others.

The participants of the Forum focused on the development of strategic sectors of the economy, including renewable energy, transport corridors, AI, digital governance and finance.

Mr. Jasurbek Choriev, Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA, addressed a panel session dedicated to the development of the Middle Corridor, where he presented TRACECA's initiatives aimed at the digitalisation of transport processes and the strengthening of international transport connectivity.

In his speech, Mr. Jasurbek Choriev noted that TRACECA, which brings together 14 member states, is consistently developing multimodal transport and introducing modern digital solutions that contribute to enhancing the efficiency of transport operations between Europe and Asia.

The Secretary General underlined the importance of further digitalisation of transport and customs procedures, including the introduction of electronic document flow and the development of unified digital tools for international transport.

Particular attention was paid to the Agreement on Single Transit Permit of TRACECA, signed in May 2026, which is aimed at facilitating international road transport and developing digital cooperation mechanisms between the signatory states.

The role of Uzbekistan in the development of international transport connectivity was specifically highlighted. In this regard, the Secretary General proposed to consider the possibility of establishing a Centre for Digital Transformation and Integration into Transport Corridors in the country.

According to Mr. Jasurbek Choriev, such a Centre could serve as a regional platform for development and implementation of innovative digital solutions in the field of transport and logistics, and could also contribute to the development of cross-border data exchange among participants in the transportation process.

During the speech, an initiative was presented for the development of a Transport Corridor Performance Index, which will make it possible to assess key indicators of the routes' operation, including transit time, reliability of transport, efficiency of infrastructure use and the quality of services provided.

“Today, various market players offer their own solutions and digital products, however, a unified approach is lacking. In this regard, the transition to a new model is only possible given political will, which would allow approaches between countries to be coordinated and unified,” the Secretary General emphasised.

TRACECA expressed its readiness to provide expert support in developing the concept of the Digital Transformation Centre, preparing a Roadmap and engaging international partners and financial institutions in the implementation of the relevant projects.
